Friends of the Library Waikoloa Region (FL-WR) is a non-profit community service organization. FL-WR works to engender a love of reading by providing an ongoing supply of books to the Community using our Bookmobile, to enable literacy in our community, and to support the ongoing needs of our Library, once it is built.
The state has announced its intent to build the Waikoloa Village Library at Kamakoa Park.
FL-WR’s Annual 5K Walk/Run for Literacy and Silent Auction allows us to support literacy programs such as Babies First Book, distributed through North Hawaii Community Hospital; to donate e-readers to regional schools; to offer English as a second language classes for moms and preschoolers; and to sponsor the Heluhelu Quiz Bowl (formerly Newbery Quiz Bowl), an island-wide reading competition.
We welcome everyone to visit our Waikoloa Village Bookmobile, which is filled with donated books and open daily from 9AM-5PM. We have books available for all reading levels and interests.
FL-WR is organized exclusively for educational purposes, within the meaning of section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Service. To learn more about all of the activities and programs visit our related pages:
